What is Body Contouring?

Body contouring is a non-invasive treatment designed to sculpt the body into a new form. To illustrate how it works, it can help to think of the way a sculptor works to create a body. Let’s say the sculptor thinks the one area of the body is too large, they can remold this area of the sculpture by removing the excess clay to make it smaller. Another option is that the sculptor wants to make one area smaller and another larger, so they can take the clay from the larger area and redistribute it to the smaller area.

Is Body Contouring painful?

Body contouring patients generally describe their experience more as uncomfortable than painful, though some patients do experience pain. The 2-3 minute massage following the procedure is often the most uncomfortable time as fat cells begin to die.

Body contouring pain is primarily experienced during the procedure itself. You may also feel slight pinching and pulling sensations. These effects can last anywhere between 5-10 minutes during your treatment.

Post-procedure, you might experience pain along with swelling and itching. With the abdomen being the most vulnerable, the level of pain experienced between areas treated can vary. Body contouring is extremely comfortable and thus does not require anesthesia. This is because the procedure is extremely comfortable and free of most pain. Patients can relax, taking the time to sleep, read, or use mobile devices.

How much weight do you lose with body contouring?

There is more than just simple weight loss when it comes to body contouring procedures. Keep in mind that removing or destroying fat cells does not stop you from gaining weight elsewhere. If you do not maintain a healthy lifestyle or try to maintain your weight, your fat cells can still expand and get bigger.

Body contouring makes an aesthetic difference and should not be used as a means of reaching your health goals. In order to maintain your newly sculpted body, you need to partake in exercise and proper nutrition. If you are looking to get rid of those stubborn areas of fat, body contouring is the best solution out there for you.
